Perämeren kansallispuisto on Kemin ja Tornion edustalla oleva merensaarista koostuva puisto. Puiston noin 150neliökilometrin pinta-alasta vain noin 2,5 neliökilometriä on maapinta-alaa. Kansallispuisto on kävijämäärältään Suomen vähiten vierailtu kansallispuisto, vaikean saavutettavuuden takia. Puistoon pääsee kesällä veneellä ja talvella jäitä pitkin.
Maihinnousu puistossa on tarkoitus suorittaa Pensaskarille, johon on Kemin sisäsatamasta matkaa noin 16km. Matka juna-asemalta satamaan on noin 1,4km.
Juna-aikataulu:
Menemme 14.2 Oulusta 7.02 lähtevällä junalla, joka on perillä Kemissä 8.17.Paluu sunnuntain 15.2 Kemistä junalla joka lähtee 19.24 ja on Oulussa 20.24
Kustannukset.
Jokainen osallistuja ostaa omat junaliput tai siirtyy muilla tavoilla sovittuun lähtöpaikkaan. Halutessaan voit myös tulla esim omalla autolla, mutta sovitaan siitä erikseen esim tavaroiden kuskauksesta.
Pakolliset varusteet
Liikkumisvälineet esim metsä- tai tunturisukset. Jos haluat mennä muilla välineillä niin kysy järjestäjältä ensin.

Tämä on hyvätilaisuus lähteä testaamaan varusteita pääsiäisvaellusta ajatellen. En suosittele retkeä ensimmäiseksi hiihtoretkeksi, mutta kaikki hiihtotaidolliset ja peruskuntoiset voivat osallistua. Jos olet epävarma siitä, pystytkö osallistumaan retkelle voit kysy järjestäjältä ennen ilmoittautumista.
Pensaskarista löytyy nuotiopaikka ja huussi. Saaressa ei saa puistonjärjestysääntöjen mukaan yöpyä eli pystytetään teltat jäälle.

Metsähallituksen ohjeistuksista johtuen tapahtumaan mahtuu enintään 19 osallistujaa. Järjestäjä pidättää oikeuden muuttaa retkikohdetta tai perua tapahtuman jää ja säätilanteiden takia.

Soopa’s Bothnian Bay Winter Expedition
Bothnian Bay National Park is a marine national park located off the coast of Kemi and Tornio in northern Finland. The park consists of numerous small islands, and of its approximately 150 square kilometres, only about 2.5 square kilometres is land. Due to its difficult accessibility, it is the least visited national park in Finland. The park can be accessed by boat in summer and by travelling over sea ice in winter.
The planned landing site within the park is Pensaskari Island, which is located approximately 16 km from Kemi inner harbour. The distance from Kemi railway station to the harbour is about 1.4 km.
Train schedule
Outbound journey – Saturday 14 FebruaryWe will travel from Oulu on a train departing at 07:02, arriving in Kemi at 08:17.
Return journey – Sunday 15 FebruaryThe return train departs from Kemi at 19:24 and arrives in Oulu at 20:24.
Costs
Each participant is responsible for purchasing their own train tickets or otherwise arranging transport to the agreed meeting point.It is also possible to arrive by private car, but this must be agreed separately with the organizers (e.g. regarding transportation of shared equipment).
Required equipment
Means of travel: backcountry skis or fell skis(If you wish to use other equipment, please consult the organizer in advance.)
Sleeping equipment: winter sleeping bag and sleeping pad
Backpack or pulk to carry all personal gear
Ice picks (ice awls)
Personal food supplies
Participants must also have clothing suitable for winter conditions and camping on sea ice.
Experience requirements
This trip is a good opportunity to test winter equipment in preparation for longer spring expeditions.However, this is not recommended as a first ski touring or winter hiking trip.
Participants should have:
prior experience with skiing in winter conditions
sufficient basic fitness for long days of travel
the ability to operate independently in cold and exposed environments

Accommodation and camping
Pensaskari Island has a fireplace and a dry toilet.According to the park regulations, overnight stays on the island are not permitted, so tents will be set up on the sea ice.

Participation limit and conditions
Due to Metsähallitus regulations, participation is limited to a maximum of 19 participants.The organizer reserves the right to change the destination or cancel the trip if ice or weather conditions require it.
